Maan was very happy these days. He felt that his life was complete. When he spoke to Jalebi the first time, he felt like his heart had found a part of it in her. Her voice, strangely reminded him of someone so close to him. When she said that her name was Khushi, he was over whelmed. One fleeting second, he thought that she might be his Gudiya. Her name, her voice, the warmth he felt listening to her chatter was increasing his gut feeling that she might be his Gudiya.
Geet was on their bed, flinging her legs and humming a tune happily. When he entered, she smiled at him and asked, “Maan, are you free tomorrow evening?” Maan looked at the beautiful picture she was. Lying on her stomach in his bed, just turning half towards him and looking at him so lovely with that big doe like eyes. He smiled at her. Who could deny her? He joined her on the bed “ Haan Geet anytime for my beautiful wife” Geet smiled and placed her hand on Maan. Both of them were facing each other lying on one side with elbows supporting their heads. Maan looked at Geet, “By the way for what Geet?” Geet smiled and snuggled closer to him.
Geet : “ Tomorrow, we are going to Jalebi’s house.”
At the mention of Jalebi, Maan shot up on bed. Geet was startled and got up as well .
Geet : “ maan what happened?”
Maan looked at Geet and asked her.
Maan :“ Geet I wanted to ask this for a long time. What is Jalebi’s father’s name?”
This question caught Geet off guard
Khushi:“ Maan, she just said that she was from Lucknow and her father’s name is Shashi Gupta. She loves her babuji very much and is grateful and indebted to him”
Maan was puzzled. Why should a daughter be indebted to her father. He voiced out his concern . Geet just looked at him for a minute and then asked him
Geet : “Maan what are u thinking???”
Maan: “Geet, I have a feeling that I will see my Gudiya soon.” Geet was so happy and confused. She looked at Maan and he just smiled at her.
Maan’s mind was in a turmoil. What if??? Can it be??? There were so many things that made sense and yet so many that did not. How could his sister, an orphaned girl, be the wife of a man as powerful as ASR??? Waise be when a girl from a small town could be the wife of MSK it is possible. The voice, the chatter, the constant calling upon of Devi maiyya, the jalebi and the name all clicked. Anyways, when he sees her in person may be, he could confirm what he was thinking. Maan then slid from the bed and called his detective friend Armaan and spoke to him. He then relaxed and went to sleep. Things will work out for him.
Raizada Maansion.
Khushi was a ball of energy now a days.
Her constant clatter, smile, laugh and presense was a gift to the members of the Raizada Mansion. Though still Arnav and her were not in talking terms much, she couldn’t help but feel like smiling all the time. Maan bhai and Geet Bhahi were like a fresh spring in her barren life. She had never thought that someone could be so loving and caring like her Geet Bhabhi. The mere mention of Maan’s name always brought a big smile on her bhabhi’s face. She so wanted to meet Maan who had bonded so well, with her. For reasons unknown, she felt a strange sense of belonging listening to his voice. It often reminded her of her brother. But the moment the possibility striked her, she felt stupid for even thinking about it. Her brother and Dadi ma had left Lucknow and had gone away on the pressure of her father’s partner. After a few days that she settled on her new home with her Babuji, amma and jiji, she saw her father’s partner on her way to school. She was so scared and hid behind a tree. She happened to hear him say, “ Well well, now that everything is over and all the obstacles removed I will be the sole owner of both the propertieS.” The moment she heard this she knew that its all over. She is no more khushi Khurana but just Khushi Gupta. But when first Geet Bhabhi said Maan’s name is Maan Singh Khurana, her mind and heart started to battle. What if, Could it be??? She could not voice out her battle to anyone. No one would bother to help her. Geet Bhabhi said everything to her. If it was true, then either bhabhi or Bhai would have asked her. Her rational mind questioned her again “Have you said everything to them KKG???” Well no, but then, and what if her Bhai thought she was dead??? Could it be??? Devi MAiya Raksha Karna !!!!!
A small hope was budding in her heart. But again, the painful memories came flooding and sank her in despair. She hoped and along with that there was fear that stopped her from hoping. She looked up at the stars and called “Amma, Babuji, will you give me my lost bade bahadur????” the two stars twinkled at her for more than once as though telling her “ We will give you more than what you asked us for Gudiyya!!!!”
